Bloom and Grow

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! I know that I did. It is good to be home ~ and big applause for the airlines that I traveled on yesterday. I arrived on time and took off on time for all three legs of my trip!
Onto the project for today!
This one I have been so excited to share! It is one that I made for a special swap group that I belong too. And the trades that I recieved were totally fabulous!!! To make this little cutie, I crocheted tons of little 6 petal flowers to match the Marvy 6 petal punch. I used buttons and wire to stick all the layers together. To make the round flower, I punched two sizes of circles (blue and pink Marvy) and then made cute about 1/4 way into the circle all the way around. I stuck some floral foam into the cans and added some spanish moss to keep the wired stems in place. I am loving the crocheted flowers! I made a bunch more on the plane. Great way to pass the time on those 3 1/2 hour flights! The stamp set is one that retired from TAC - sorry... :( but there are a lot of companies that have "bloom and grow" sayings - or any flower like saying would be ideal.
If you are local and have been following my Google calendar - please notice that I have moved my catalog reveal party to THIS THURSDAY. Please RSVP. Thanks. ;)
Happy crafting and Inky hugz!

Fun at Seminar!

Well, on my way after a totally fun weekend at The Angel Company's Seminar in Wichita at the Hyatt. My feet are a wee bit tired of the sock hop last night! It was too much fun and the costumes were so fantastic!!! My fave had to be Heather though - she was our "Jan" from Grease and carried around her tooth brush! Hilarious! (Remember that part in Grease where Jan sings along with the tooth brush commercial? "Brusha, brusha, brusha..." LOL)
The new catalog/idea book was released. Some very cute stamps! We were able to stamp images from about 8 or so different sets. I can't wait to get home and start coloring and creating!
ClubMED also had fantastic prop swaps! Here is what I made. Jenny McGee got it. :) I used a
Timeless Template from Paepertrey Ink. I think it is the carry along. I found 10 Chocolate Rules and printed them for the front pocket. The inside has a tin with decorated chocolate. This is the swap that I made for ClubMED. I found the inspiration again in Cards magazine. The pillow box is a die cut that I used the clam shells that our stamps come in. Very "green!" Now I need more stamps to get more boxes! LOL The pillow box is filled with a rainbow pack of licorice. Yummy! These were fun and easy to make. A great birthday favor! The stamp is from TAC as well. I will have more to post later this week. I am sure that there will be some great pictures cirucalting from this weekend. ;)

A Little Birdie Told Me...

Only one more day until the new catalog is released from The Angel Company! I am very excited - can you tell! LOL

"A little birdie told me" is one of my favorite sayings - I wonder where it came from?
The card that I have to share today (fourth day in a row! Whoo hoo!) is one of my trades for seminar. So, if you are going to seminar - come find me to trade! I have to give Kudos to the latest issue of Cards magazine for the inspiration for this card.
I used The Angel Company's ultra smooth white card stock for the body of the card, the roof and door are from the Penelope paper pack, a stamp set available online only - Early Bird, button from one of the ultra cute In Blossom button/flower packs, and can't live with out it - Scrapper's Floss in brown. The ink is Palette in Burnt Umber and Landscape. I let it dry and used Pantone markers to color and add detail. I stitched the roof for some added accent as well as the door so that it actually opened - using the little button as a door knob. I must have sewn something on a uniform for DH last using my sewing machine, because it had a lovely BDU green thread in it - and it was perfect for my little house! :)
Well, here is to a day of hanging out in airports and flying to Wichita!

Dutch Blue

I am going for a new blogging record! Three in a row! Whoo-hoo!!!!
This is one of my favorite stamps sets from the spring Serindipity magalogue release. "A Kind of Gratitude." The dark blue cardstock is from DCWV that The Angel Company carries in 8 1/2 x 11 in packs of 25! So rocks!!! I think that this are Purple 1 (looks Navy). The lighter blue in the background is from the "blues" Bazzill paperpack that TAC carries. The white is the Ultrasmooth from TAC. I love the weight of it. Not too heavy, not too light. Great when coloring with Copics (doesn't seap through the paper). The label looking stamp is from a hostess set in the Serendipity magalogue. Maybe it will be available for sale in the new catalog/idea book?!?!?!? I'll let you know on Thursday! ;) I stamped the flower image three times and cut out the middle cirlce, then the leaf part and added it to the larger whole flower for a 3-D look. I did use my Copics to color - but bad girl, I didn't write down which ones. The colors for this card were inspired by some stickers that I picked up at the Michael's $1 spot. It reminds me of some Danish dishes that my grandmother had. Oh! and this was also a sketch challenge hosted by the lovely Heather Scott!

OK, on a completely different note... last night I finally updated my iphone with the new 3.0 version. LOVE it!!!! The copy/paste feature is the best! I can't waint until AT&T comes out with picture messaging. That is the only thing that I don't like about the iphone... other than that, happy consumer here! Also - getting ready to head out to Seminar tonight. It makes for a LONG night those red-eye flights! But, I am downloading a couple new movies from itunes and updating my ipod for the trip!
Have a great day!

A Little Love

Wow! I am on a role! Three days in a row!!! Has to be a record for me here!!!
This card I made this winter too - for a swap. The "love" is stamped on shrink plastic. It kind of has a "Love Elsie" look to it - at least that was my inspiration. Love her art work!!! The stamp of the fun oval is from, Sassy Girl, from The Angel Company. It is on sale, 25% off and not available after this week!! This was my #1 favorite stamp set last year. Just so sassy!!! ~ and the heart is from Linear Sentiments, TAC too. And can't forget the Stickles! I used the glitter Spica pens from Copic for the added detail at the bottom. Monday... usually I stay in bed until the last minute to get up and ready for work. This morning for some odd reason - I was up (and out of bed) before 6am!!! Hope the rest of my day is as productive!
Happy Monday!

Hats Off!

I got to spend the ENTIRE day to day make cards! It was the same card 40 times over, but it was so awesome! I haven't spent a day like this in ages!!! Have to get my swaps ready for The Angel Company's Seminar next week in Whichita, KS.
Here is another card that I made - this spring. I had a couple contests this winter/spring for my down line in The Angel Company. This was one of the cards that I sent with their goodie box! I was into the basic, clean look. Paper is again the Pop Rockz from The Angel Company as is the stamp set, "Hats Off." The little faces in this set are really cute. The die cut is the left over middle from a Nestability. Every bit of paper counts! :) I used my old old old Pantone markers to color this little gal. Little by little they are dieing off and being replaced with Copics. Only thing I am missing with the change is the tiny third tip my Pantones have. Great for little detail. Oh well...
Another Monday is coming fast! And only two more days until I leave for Seminar!!! Whoo-hoo! Can't wait to spend some quality "girlie-girl" time with my peeps!

Happy Summer!!!!

Summer Solstice is here! Today in Fairbanks, we get 100% daylight! Hopefully no rain as well...

I have a card to share! I know, it has been awhile! I would like to be able to say that I have a good excuse as to my absence, but other than work and busy life - not really! I kind of lost my mojo this winter, I think. It was a LONGGGG winter...
So, no more waiting!
Here is it! (a little late or WAY early - depends on how you look at it!)"Hoppy Easter!" These cute bunnies are from "No Bunny Like You" from The Angel Company. The frame is from QuicKutz. Edge punch from Fiskars. The fun paper is from The Angel Company, Pop Rockz.
I do have more to share! But need to wait until next week. It is Seminar for The Angel Company and I have been busy making trades, prop swap, and other goodies!!! It is a fun time - and the new catalog is revealed! So excited!!!
Enjoy your weekend ~ and be sure to stop back by again soon!
