Loving this little digi from Your Next Stamp. It was free! :) Thank You, YNS! <br />
She is colored using an old favorite - Dove Blender and Shimmerz mica powder color palette. Had to brush up a bit, but enjoyed the time coloring. Sigh... Stress relief! No wonder kids love to color! <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimFWfGiOHQKO14D19azabZiNV_-CNJGorN-iR-PDY71Dr2OGJRQNDM9I5lnqrFlNYXQQBWVdyGvZC_QbAxtxWb5wi5lHI_I-5HtQJ0XKQeXv4az6-ZV4FoHhnvWIZyPFlrf_hdXWXzSI68/s640/blogger-image--400192395.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimFWfGiOHQKO14D19azabZiNV_-CNJGorN-iR-PDY71Dr2OGJRQNDM9I5lnqrFlNYXQQBWVdyGvZC_QbAxtxWb5wi5lHI_I-5HtQJ0XKQeXv4az6-ZV4FoHhnvWIZyPFlrf_hdXWXzSI68/s640/blogger-image--400192395.jpg" /></a></div>Candi Dierenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483130371924683139noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654474504970252727.post-76237660621063378052011-05-13T10:44:00.000-08:002011-05-13T10:44:58.939-08:00Off for the Summer...Well, it has been a long and busy spring and now to be ready for a long busy summer. Camps, camps, camps, camps... <br />
I also started back to school again to work on my PHD. Very little time left for crafting, which is so sad!!! Wah!!!! <br />
Guess this means that I will be off "blogging" for the summer. Hopefully there will be a surprise here and there - but... let's not hold our breath. LOL <br />
Enjoy!Candi Dierenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483130371924683139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654474504970252727.post-16063684928225333392011-02-21T12:28:00.000-09:002011-02-21T12:28:30.191-09:00Where Are You?Wow! We received about 16" of snow so far this weekend. Hubby has been digging the neighbors out - he loves his 4-wheeler with the plow! I shoveled a little path for Rhett and Scarlet so that they could get to their favorite tree outside. There are 3 foot snow walls on each side of their little path - but they don't get all covered in snow now. LOL<br />
Happy Day!Candi Dierenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483130371924683139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654474504970252727.post-38132534980849536922011-01-30T13:05:00.000-09:002011-01-30T13:05:16.036-09:00You Make February FABULOUS!Hold onto your socks because the month of February will be sure to "knock your socks off!" <br />

Here is a quick project that I made this morning. Not much to craft this weekend - work had to take priority. :(<br />
I first cut a heart shape out - traced something I had lying around my craft room - on muslin. I chose a loose weave muslin so that the potpourri smell might be stronger. I sewed the heart together (leaving a little bit open on the side for the potpourri) and added lace trim and some ribbon to the top for a hanger. I stamped <a href="http://candi.ismyangel.net/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?prodid=5561&cid=124&pid=103">Damask Background</a> by The Angel Company (tm) using Bordeaux Palette ink and <a href="http://candi.ismyangel.net/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?prodid=5402&cid=271&pid=266">"love" </a>onto a little swatch of muslin that I stitched around and frayed the edges. I attached the saying using some adhesive and added the little bow made from Scrapper's Floss. I then distressed it using some Burnt Umber Palette ink and a sponge. Last - added some yummy pecan vanilla potpourri and stitched the opening close. Yummy! <br />

Back again with another tutorial. I had a good time putting the last one together - so thought that I would give it another shot. This one is how to create embossed velvet using a rubber stamp, iron and rayon velvet. My lovely friend Holly hosted a technique challenge for "angels" (The Angel Company demonstrators) this past fall and my technique was embossed velvet. I love this technique! Here is the card that I created for the swap. Notice the detail in the black from the stamp image embossed into it. I also used cotton velvet (white heart) and stamps the image using Momento Tuxedo Black - as well for the saying.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiyIcaITayvTHzIlBELQ17OWn5btBhTrYobYGmbAkV0gDtYv3gx-5ZrhDxyeKT-aUsxRfBWZvm49PiXO2eGEAGaVd0_6byjVIAtU8eNlZV1E0fqtQdo4pifRnE6w7fhnAp2E4yB1KMn8QA/s1600/DSC_0474.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiyIcaITayvTHzIlBELQ17OWn5btBhTrYobYGmbAkV0gDtYv3gx-5ZrhDxyeKT-aUsxRfBWZvm49PiXO2eGEAGaVd0_6byjVIAtU8eNlZV1E0fqtQdo4pifRnE6w7fhnAp2E4yB1KMn8QA/s640/DSC_0474.JPG" width="424" /> </a><br />
Like it? So here is how to do it!<br />
Set a DRY iron on cotton setting.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNVVm0GWSLZQByw4hBrJgfJIMG12Wt1sXoTGa_NHwJIiRqSDReD1lhX_buiLLKJRkckyiMVjuu5UU7s-vvK2FSTdSH-2eLXZu2WD_H53vUVuJcA1Bsm-pQg6EW6hT7RcKZeFRr5S1gRgNj/s1600/DSC_0483.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNVVm0GWSLZQByw4hBrJgfJIMG12Wt1sXoTGa_NHwJIiRqSDReD1lhX_buiLLKJRkckyiMVjuu5UU7s-vvK2FSTdSH-2eLXZu2WD_H53vUVuJcA1Bsm-pQg6EW6hT7RcKZeFRr5S1gRgNj/s1600/DSC_0483.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNVVm0GWSLZQByw4hBrJgfJIMG12Wt1sXoTGa_NHwJIiRqSDReD1lhX_buiLLKJRkckyiMVjuu5UU7s-vvK2FSTdSH-2eLXZu2WD_H53vUVuJcA1Bsm-pQg6EW6hT7RcKZeFRr5S1gRgNj/s320/DSC_0483.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
Spritz the wrong side of the RAYON velvet with water - lightly spritz.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinfbwfQ8c5ksePno2yw_DL_y2sRhvGrqWcmA1MTN6qI4fnCX3hqUP-PtEWkcgkRUYIsOUof-ZrUXFIKFC-qIkANOqI0HIQvHsVlvbJ81jyD-RU0uDagXHDIsMwlCUjCSO4nT9U1I-CkwAO/s1600/DSC_0484.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinfbwfQ8c5ksePno2yw_DL_y2sRhvGrqWcmA1MTN6qI4fnCX3hqUP-PtEWkcgkRUYIsOUof-ZrUXFIKFC-qIkANOqI0HIQvHsVlvbJ81jyD-RU0uDagXHDIsMwlCUjCSO4nT9U1I-CkwAO/s320/DSC_0484.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
Place the velvet wrong side up on top of the rubber stamp.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQCskazVfUKF4qTfZjzYgjN0Ubo-LkGsWdBBGZ8dAso3UCmhcXjr904Ptm7XyvXKE4qYKkbL97FK8QqRmFe8kwyiHYCuQF3PCyZ5s9wJPFJplCj6bGiBIzxKI4lfX56TVWZfkT35dauyqz/s1600/DSC_0485.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQCskazVfUKF4qTfZjzYgjN0Ubo-LkGsWdBBGZ8dAso3UCmhcXjr904Ptm7XyvXKE4qYKkbL97FK8QqRmFe8kwyiHYCuQF3PCyZ5s9wJPFJplCj6bGiBIzxKI4lfX56TVWZfkT35dauyqz/s320/DSC_0485.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
Place the iron straight down onto the velvet. Lightly move the iron for about 30 seconds. Lift the iron straight up off of the velvet. Let cool for a few seconds.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaSk8u_P9bxU4X6HvMWBYsfLIGlJqmpauI-0czBs4suGhUcQNxnNIUhsVNAEF-9z_QMACLhw6I5_GzWlj_EdlIJwMY3T2npcPnsp-tsJgSWuiMMNAiQMnhJ24uS00nbiT9Aeto_RjDy-xb/s1600/DSC_0486.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaSk8u_P9bxU4X6HvMWBYsfLIGlJqmpauI-0czBs4suGhUcQNxnNIUhsVNAEF-9z_QMACLhw6I5_GzWlj_EdlIJwMY3T2npcPnsp-tsJgSWuiMMNAiQMnhJ24uS00nbiT9Aeto_RjDy-xb/s320/DSC_0486.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Remove the velvet from the stamp. Voila! <br />
The velvet will fray like crazy. I use Fray Check around the edges to help stop this. Cutting with pinking shears will help too. <br />
<br />

Here is another Valentine! Stamp is another gift with purchase stamp from The Angel Company. I cut the heart with Hearts 1 - Sizzix. The scallop trim is a Fiskars edge punch. Colored with Copics. I added a bit of red Stickles after the fact. Gotta have glitter!!! This was another fairly quick one. Not a lot of fuss. The ribbon is floral ribbon from Hobby Lobby. I love this stuff. It is stiffer than most regular ribbons and the bow stays in place. Makes awesome bows. Good price too! I wish we had a Hobby Lobby here - maybe not... one more craft store could be dangerous! lol <br />
Have a fantastic Monday!<br />

I learned how to crochet hearts over the weekend - how much fun!!!!! First, here is a photo tutorial. There are tons of videos on YouTube as well. I watched a couple and came up with my heart pattern.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLFfzEZQecCJ8LljeM4iexGUErCANpysSIJIFi3c_jI6u22f_IwGWJGZA4jEDfZEa56i1z0lREZngc1A3G42s2KC302WwJBbkHXIupNpdKjHqyrlk10bnqJahWVRZUY5iJLhb5X9IZvWEk/s1600/DSC_0451.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLFfzEZQecCJ8LljeM4iexGUErCANpysSIJIFi3c_jI6u22f_IwGWJGZA4jEDfZEa56i1z0lREZngc1A3G42s2KC302WwJBbkHXIupNpdKjHqyrlk10bnqJahWVRZUY5iJLhb5X9IZvWEk/s320/DSC_0451.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565463753504638754" border="0"></a>Make your beginning loop and crochet 6 chains.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOARcozrbbBFj8roG8etNfCyqpQOqSO3SIG7ANkjhvClavSdx_jN-93csmA0wHLQ49EYHMIlZ-soSS3mNwhRjgRMUTRVrpdd3wAfrhicoYPtIz9_FywY7Dpb0Y1B60MIMyH0Kdd7k-_Y2Q/s1600/DSC_0453.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOARcozrbbBFj8roG8etNfCyqpQOqSO3SIG7ANkjhvClavSdx_jN-93csmA0wHLQ49EYHMIlZ-soSS3mNwhRjgRMUTRVrpdd3wAfrhicoYPtIz9_FywY7Dpb0Y1B60MIMyH0Kdd7k-_Y2Q/s320/DSC_0453.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565464121733845010" border="0"></a>Insert hook into chain next to hook and single crochet. Turn block so that you will be working on the left side and insert needle into center of the side. Just kind of pick a spot - that is in the center. There aren't really any chain tops to use because this is a side. *Note - you will be completing a double crochet for your first stitch, so be sure to wrap the yarn around your hook one time before inserting the hook into the side of the block (not shown correctly in photo - I forgot to wrap the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">thread)</span><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8D_CdgNqzVP1Z2w5g0WMviHk_eZ_QwMZ8d2CXdvZFvnTokjNjUPsihvde-ZuInhBxAw4zk44KNA_wk6EoKR0DZXW3uDgfP6FhHsN0VGxxbAceTp_oh2XeXA5sAaZQ0oICviYnSBbJbdcK/s1600/DSC_0456.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8D_CdgNqzVP1Z2w5g0WMviHk_eZ_QwMZ8d2CXdvZFvnTokjNjUPsihvde-ZuInhBxAw4zk44KNA_wk6EoKR0DZXW3uDgfP6FhHsN0VGxxbAceTp_oh2XeXA5sAaZQ0oICviYnSBbJbdcK/s320/DSC_0456.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565464863868710258" border="0"></a>Complete this pattern: double crochet, chain one six times. I came up with this super quick card. It is very simple, but cute (I think) just the same. The elephants are a gift with purchase stamp from the The Angel Company's Fall Supplement. Which until the end of the month gift with purchase stamp rewards are tripled!!!! THREE FREE gift with purchase stamps with a $30 purchase!<br />So - with the card. The elephants were colored with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Copics</span> and a touch of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Stickles</span> was added to the hearts. I tried using Liquid Pearls to make a border- some of them kind of got <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">smooshed</span>... but I thought that it added some cute border detail. The Love U sentiment is from a different gift with purchase stamp. This is one that we made at a Christmas card stamp-a-stack I hosted back in November. Another distressed flower! Sorry for the poor photo quality. This was taken with my old iphone. The distressed flower was made using DCWV cardstock. I wanted to try the flower with a white core paper to see how it would turn out. I also used Shimmer Mist instead of water to wet the paper to aid in distressing. The <a href="http://candi.ismyangel.net/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?prodid=5895&cid=269&pid=265">penguin</a> stamp and saying are a set from The Angel Company (TM) - fall supplement. Well, it has warmed up a bit here - finally. Still below zero, but tolerable.<br />Today's post is of a couple of cards - they are the same - with a bit of a different flower on each. The one to the left is a button embellishment I had on hand and the red flowers are extras from a flower I took apart. The one to the right is a distressed flower sprayed with Shimmer Mist. I am having so much fun making these! The stamp saying is from The Angel Company (TM) and the paper is from a mini pack by Jenni Bowlin. I LOVE the red damask print.<br />Enjoy your weekend!!!<br />Candi<br /><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><div id="refHTML"></div>Candi Dierenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483130371924683139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654474504970252727.post-35093654743303848342011-01-15T12:25:00.005-09:002011-01-15T12:33:59.788-09:00A Couple to Share...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCNxJHBiOnlQ1bt4B0PndYIZDePC_6dCDdR2et7zelXkm9hmf6UcdEk4CbtPHT52i0vlafVmwX_MomZTOlAZmLcDwWQTHQw4VwNuiMsvNwP9CzCQvLM0i-yEtq-wgS81rOBjJht932MfL9/s1600/noel.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562527823142739554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCNxJHBiOnlQ1bt4B0PndYIZDePC_6dCDdR2et7zelXkm9hmf6UcdEk4CbtPHT52i0vlafVmwX_MomZTOlAZmLcDwWQTHQw4VwNuiMsvNwP9CzCQvLM0i-yEtq-wgS81rOBjJht932MfL9/s320/noel.jpg" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGis3CC0YcxlxASIJCE8ms_AHGsLVC9C-YlRfCiv54M0-rqek9hn7AwNvRDavVtLjH5ByX9O3fwrSjRgWb6Mu3cVQrT5DW5fKvTcFa9X7O03Uj1E5ZCoI0jtFvVn7Sj8SPtJNVZI9Ut4vm/s1600/joy.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562527714343831090" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGis3CC0YcxlxASIJCE8ms_AHGsLVC9C-YlRfCiv54M0-rqek9hn7AwNvRDavVtLjH5ByX9O3fwrSjRgWb6Mu3cVQrT5DW5fKvTcFa9X7O03Uj1E5ZCoI0jtFvVn7Sj8SPtJNVZI9Ut4vm/s320/joy.jpg" /></a> <div>Still a few to post that I made over the holidays. This week was CRAZY going back to work - so not a lot of time to play since I worked late almost every night. Hopefully today will be productive! :)<br />These two cards were made with scraps from some paper I was holding onto because I loved it so much - by The Paper Company. I believe that I received the words in a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">ScrapGoods</span> kit years ago. Finally used them! What a great feeling when digging in the stash and finding lost treasures. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">LOL</span> The letters are actually see through - I just backed them with paper. </div><div>I also have been working on my Etsy store - I have sold a table runner - I was sooo excited!!! I have three items listed - two table runner quilts and a handmade card. Hope to list more over the weekend. I am listed as <a href="http://www.esty.com/shop/stampcandy">Stampcandy</a> in Etsy if you want to take a peak! :) One of the mini quilts is actually a checkerboard. It is really cute. Comes with big buttons for the checker pieces. Great for travel. </div><div>Enjoy your weekend! I know I will - despite the -25 below zero weather outside. </div></div>Candi Dierenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12483130371924683139noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4654474504970252727.post-36165420912626607582011-01-06T11:07:00.003-09:002011-01-06T11:13:43.756-09:00More to Share!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD2G22kc7LywHU4Jrtbqk8eCJ2wZ72tYWYHN1RYGpPcwmee-IXvxu4V6e0r7vzRjj0HpE-RyxFOhpfPgJ-ozW4nAfFPsTkdwGAIWoiaNfjZprC16DiLh0RnL1luMbgJhbPJdxC_Iaa_QOs/s1600/betty+snowflake.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5559167727773600130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD2G22kc7LywHU4Jrtbqk8eCJ2wZ72tYWYHN1RYGpPcwmee-IXvxu4V6e0r7vzRjj0HpE-RyxFOhpfPgJ-ozW4nAfFPsTkdwGAIWoiaNfjZprC16DiLh0RnL1luMbgJhbPJdxC_Iaa_QOs/s320/betty+snowflake.jpg" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii8nSBCYZBfJW_l_rt-9E7XG3msg4QDWMZrCVNfNseXz5CFhPnt-KEgufBCRytWRAGf23Hc2_l_b3UreTSM6e0k8g7TsXcwvdn-3-qbf6VKnGlT1T7V8bC_TOsXBiM0uAUvaTGaidd0R23/s1600/betty+trees.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 239px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5559167724130429938" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii8nSBCYZBfJW_l_rt-9E7XG3msg4QDWMZrCVNfNseXz5CFhPnt-KEgufBCRytWRAGf23Hc2_l_b3UreTSM6e0k8g7TsXcwvdn-3-qbf6VKnGlT1T7V8bC_TOsXBiM0uAUvaTGaidd0R23/s320/betty+trees.jpg" /></a> <div>I tell you - it was so nice to be able to spend some time in my craft room over the holidays! I had to jump in on the fun - but haven't had time yet to create my own card for the Blog Hop - I suddenly remembered that I had Halloween cards that I didn't send out last year! LOL I totally was inspired by Barb Foster - she is the Halloween Queen - and lately my idol - no Barb, not stalking! LOL :) So here a few cards that I made (CASED) last October - that WILL go into the mail or be given out this year! ROFL!!! All stamps are from The Angel Company. Those girls done good!!!<br />The purple and pink eggs were made by stamping with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Versamark</span> and then embossing on white CS with white <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">EP</span>. I keep telling myself it is just a number - but another milestone in life too! I have the terrific girlfriends here - and a very sweet hubby... He contacted my girlfriends before he left for his TDY and these girls - they rock! (so does hubby!) ... they planned this very fun surprise birthday for me and Saturday night. I sat with my friend Jen at the bazaar all day on Saturday and she was good... I didn't have a clue! Alysia brought over Mexican food for dinner and just as we were finishing up - Jen, Kara and Rori showed up with a yummmy chocolate cake, balloons, and fun birthday gifts! LOVING my new Lolita Margarita birthday wine glass -and the Moscato was yummy too. Anyway... that was fun - and then Monday Aleisa cooked birthday lunch for me (Jen & Robert and Christine joined in!) and this cake that was to die for! It was a yellow cake with vanilla pudding - two layers - and inbetween the layers was Nutella. Yumm! Chocolate frosting covered the cake too. So yummy! What a terrific Birthday - even with hubby out of the country... totally a day to remember! :) So with that - I just had to make the girls thank you cards. I received the You Rock stamp set from Taylored Expressions and was soo looking for a reason to use it. So - "You Rock" thank you cards it is! I pretty much cased a card that I found on the<a href="http://www.tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/"> Taylored Expressions blog</a> - but changed up the colors and a made mine a bit simpler - yet more distressed. The You Rock stamp actually has the saying in one line - but I cut it in half and made it two lines instead. I also made envelopes for the cards because I didn't have any to fit a 5 1/2" square card. So easy! LOVED it! Fun too! <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicv8AxUrlLt9gXZts5LhQlWaVndLO5Awm6Goi89pkpysdUKbY76se5XhR42kJO0fYI2oAL3N7TuZSCpXZAX1LwjSXPCOgyLDjLENNzvr4FW-TgO_kJyhjAD9VlaIq6guMa6esz63is9tTI/s1600/you+rock2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicv8AxUrlLt9gXZts5LhQlWaVndLO5Awm6Goi89pkpysdUKbY76se5XhR42kJO0fYI2oAL3N7TuZSCpXZAX1LwjSXPCOgyLDjLENNzvr4FW-TgO_kJyhjAD9VlaIq6guMa6esz63is9tTI/s320/you+rock2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456521587432700754" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNBCOvRogrWl0VJfJ7WUMj2hH3J0di8PZuFCYynD4k-8sm-MiHbly9twMpsuc7U2R3pfG6XEkNOa2rhYDxvXqusEI0CbRttXCrfjNzW2b4YxyLDdglNAYlebMj_ibxpYj_aw22S5RwnNnW/s1600/envies.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNBCOvRogrWl0VJfJ7WUMj2hH3J0di8PZuFCYynD4k-8sm-MiHbly9twMpsuc7U2R3pfG6XEkNOa2rhYDxvXqusEI0CbRttXCrfjNzW2b4YxyLDdglNAYlebMj_ibxpYj_aw22S5RwnNnW/s320/envies.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456521592660959010" border="0" /></a><br />Notice the blanket that I put these on? I thought that the colors matched nicely - AND wanted to share a pict of one of my winter crochet projects. I become a crocheting fool December and January! I went from having things spread out in cupboards through an entire basement - to a bedroom. I do LOVE it though! I used gorilla shelves on both sides of the room and LOTS of plastic bins that I took hours to sort and label. I love the colors that the room is - and that it is actually somewhat decorated.<br />My sweet hubby got me a new chair for my craft room for my birthday! I had my eye on it for awhile.
